Congressman Haridopolos and Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos Announce Guidelines for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition

MELBOURNE, FL – Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) and Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos are pleased to announce that the 2025 Congressional Art Competition is officially open for high school students across Florida’s 8th Congressional District. This annual competition is an opportunity to showcase the creativity and talent of young artists while celebrating the unique beauty and innovation of our district.

“This year’s theme, ‘From the Lagoon to the Moon and Beyond,’ reflects the incredible heritage of our district,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “From the stunning natural beauty of the Indian River Lagoon to the cutting-edge space exploration and innovation happening across our community, our district has so much to celebrate. I encourage all high school students to participate and let their creativity shine!”

Students are invited to submit original artwork following the official House of Representatives guidelines, which can be found at https://haridopolos.house.gov/services/art-competition. The submission deadline is Friday, April 18th at 5:00 PM, all entries can be dropped off at the District Office, located at 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Building C, Melbourne, FL  32940, or the Indian River County office building located at 1801 27th St,  Bldg A, Vero Beach, FL 32960.  

Students need to include a release form taped to the back of their artwork.

All submissions will be celebrated with the winner in the beautiful atrium of the Vero Beach Art Museum. In addition, the artist who comes in first place will be celebrated at the United States Capitol and have the opportunity to meet Congressman Haridopolos on June 11th, 2025. This trip will include round-trip flights for the winner and a guest to Washington, D.C. Additionally, the top three winning entries will receive special recognition:

  • First Place: Displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year
  • Second Place: Showcased in the Washington, D.C. office
  • Third Place: Featured in the Melbourne District Office
