WASHINGTON, D.C. -- On Wednesday, Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) issued a statement commending President Trump for enlisting Elon Musk in the fight against government waste and inefficiency through his work with DOGE.

“I commend the work that President Trump has tasked Elon Musk to do with DOGE”, said Haridopolos. “As a new member of Congress, I am infuriated by the reckless spending that has defined Washington for decades. The United States is drowning in $36 trillion of debt and hardworking Americans have been paying 20-30% more in recent years for gas, food, and rent. Meanwhile, government agencies like USAID continue to waste taxpayer dollars on ridiculous projects with little oversight from the public, while massive, expensive inefficiencies have been allowed to persist for decades. That is insulting to American taxpayers and unacceptable for our future.

The first step in fixing this mess is putting government spending into the sunlight, just like Florida. That’s exactly what Elon Musk is doing with DOGE: He is tasked with identifying and exposing government waste and inefficiencies because President Trump understands that the American people are fed up with wasteful spending.
