March 27, 2025

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) is seeking a veteran or Gold Star Family member to serve in his Melbourne District Office as part of the House of Representatives' Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program. This two-year, paid position is designed to provide employment opportunities for veterans and Gold Star Families while ensuring congressional offices are equipped to serve military and veteran constituents with dedicated care.

“The debt we owe to our veterans and Gold Star Families is one that cannot be fully repaid, but we must continue to honor their service and sacrifice in meaningful ways,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “This program brings their invaluable perspective into my work in Congress, and I encourage eligible individuals in our community to apply.”

The selected candidate will handle veterans-related casework and serve as a liaison between constituents and federal, state, and local agencies.

To qualify:

Veterans must be honorably discharged, released from active duty within the last six years, and have terminal pay grades at or below E-5, O-3, or W-2. Those promoted to E-6, O-4, or W-3 within six months of separation may also be eligible. Veterans receiving 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authorization (TERA) retirements are not eligible.

Gold Star applicants must be the spouse, parent, sibling, child, or stepchild of a service member who died in the line of duty or from a service-connected disability within four years of separation from service.
