Congressman Mike Haridopolos Votes to Pass House Budget Resolution and Lay the Foundation to Restore Fiscal Responsibility

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday evening, Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) voted to pass the House Republican Budget Resolution, paving the way for responsible governance and delivering on promises made to the American people. 

“This budget resolution is the vehicle for the agenda that voters wanted,” said Congressman Haridopolos.” Our budget resolution is a crucial step toward restoring fiscal discipline, securing our borders, unleashing American energy, strengthening our economy, and ensuring a strong national defense. Passing this budget will also allow us to make the 2017 Tax Cuts permanent, ensuring that Floridians are not hit by burdensome tax hikes, preserving the child tax credit and the standard deduction for taxpayers. The American people sent a clear message this November that they want responsible leadership that prioritizes their needs and not reckless government spending. This resolution is a blueprint for getting America back on track.”  

The Budget establishes the framework for Congress to advance legislation that will rein in wasteful spending and enact policies that put hardworking Americans first. Congressman Haridopolos emphasized that this is just the beginning, The House will now begin the process of crafting legislation to deliver further reforms.
