Haridopolos’ Office Reclaims Over $5 Million for Floridians from Federal Government

September 9, 2025

MELBOURNE, FL – Congressman Mike Haridopolos announced today that his office has reclaimed more than $5,400,000 owed to Floridians by the federal government since he took office in January. In that same period, the office assisted more than 1,400 Floridians in Brevard, Indian River, and Orange counties in resolving problems with federal agencies.

“This milestone proves what I’ve believed since day one: Government should work for the people,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “These numbers represent real, earned benefits for real people: veterans receiving disability checks, families gaining survivor benefits, small businesses breaking free of IRS delays, and seniors finally getting the Social Security benefits they’ve earned. When Floridians get caught in the red tape of Washington, my office is here to cut through it and make sure they receive the benefits and services they’ve earned.”

Congressman Haridopolos’s office reached this milestone just eight months into his first term in Congress, a reflection of the strength and professionalism of his constituent services team. Based in Florida’s 8th District, the caseworkers bring firsthand expertise to their roles, with several veterans on staff who specialize in navigating the VA and Department of Defense. Their experience and persistence have enabled the office to resolve complex cases efficiently and secure tangible results for Floridians.

“This kind of work is only possible because of my dedicated staff, who pour their energy into helping people,” added Haridopolos. They listen closely to every case, make the calls, follow up with agencies, and don’t stop until they have answers and results. If you’re facing problems with a federal agency, don’t hesitate to contact my office. We are here to make sure Floridians get the services and benefits they’ve earned.”

Background:

Constituent services are a cornerstone of congressional work. Every year, thousands of Americans encounter roadblocks when dealing with federal agencies like delays, confusing processes, or paperwork that gets lost in the shuffle. When this happens, they can reach out to their congressional offices to intervene when cases are stalled or unresolved beyond normal processing times. In many cases, the office works directly with federal agencies to expedite answers, secure overdue benefits, and resolve outstanding claims.

While Congressman Haridopolos’ office cannot submit new applications on a constituent’s behalf, it can step in once an application or claim has already been filed and has gone beyond the agency’s typical processing window. At that point, the office can serve as an advocate, using its federal contacts to push for answers, cut through bureaucratic delays, and ensure Floridians receive the benefits and services they are entitled to.
