Rep. Haridopolos Applauds Passage of FY26 Funding to Strengthen National and Homeland Security

January 23, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Mike Haridopolos released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, and H.R. 7147, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations Act, 2026, completing the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process:

“Congress is doing its job by funding the military, keeping Americans safe, and cutting unnecessary government spending,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “These bills strengthen our national security and support our service members while delivering real results back home, including improved transportation, stronger local infrastructure, and support for growing communities.”

The funding package makes significant investments in military readiness, including new Navy aircraft that enhance threat detection and command-and-control capabilities. It also strengthens homeland security by targeting fentanyl trafficking and ensuring DHS has the tools and resources needed to protect the American people.

In addition, the legislation includes $9 million in funding for Space Coast and Treasure Coast projects, including:

  • $4 million for Melbourne Orlando International Airport terminal upgrades to improve capacity, safety, and passenger experience
  • $1 million for the City of Palm Bay’s Minton Road Widening Project to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow
  • $2 million for the City of Cocoa Train Station to support passenger rail service and bring Brightline to the community
  • $2 million for the Fellsmere Public Library and Community Resource Center to expand community services and public access
