Rep. Haridopolos Votes to Pass Housing Affordability Legislation

June 23, 2026

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) voted to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, legislation that addresses our nation’s housing affordability crisis by streamlining permitting processes, encouraging new housing construction, modernizing housing finance programs, and supporting manufactured and modular housing.

“Over the last four years, more than 10 million illegal immigrants entered the country, increasing demand for housing while red tape made it harder to build new homes. The result: higher costs and fewer opportunities for American families,” said Congressman Haridopolos. “The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act tackles the problem head-on by cutting unnecessary regulations, increasing housing supply, supporting community banks, and helping more Americans achieve homeownership. The solution to the housing crisis is not more bureaucracy—it's building more homes and putting American families first.”
