WASHINGTON – Florida Republican Rep. Mike Haridopolos, who has entered his first ever term in Congress, highlighted the strategic importance of Greenland to U.S. national security amid President-elect Donald Trump’s discussions in favor of acquiring the country into American territory.
WASHINGTON DC – Mike Haridopolos of Indian Harbor Beach in Brevard County took the 8th District U.S. House of Representatives oath of office on Friday, succeeding Bill Posey of Rockledge, who retired after eight two-year terms in the House.
Haridopolis won on Nov. 5 with 62.25% of the vote.
As the Space Coast’s incoming congressman, Haridopolis has been appointed to serve on two high-profile committees — the House Science, Space and Technology Committee and the House Financial Services Committee.
