MELBOURNE, FL – Congressman Mike Haridopolos announced today that his office has reclaimed more than $5,400,000 owed to Floridians by the federal government since he took office in January. In that same period, the office assisted more than 1,400 Floridians in Brevard, Indian River, and Orange counties in resolving problems with federal agencies.

Sean Freeman served for more than 10 years aboard the U.S. Navy submarines, the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the USS Patrick Henry. And, unfortunately, it feels like it's taken just as long to get the Veterans Administration to correct an error regarding a chronic medical condition that will ultimately take his life.

Freeman's fight only feels like 10 years. It's been three years. That's still unacceptable.

FELLSMERE — A $2 million federal grant will help add a 21st century library to the site of the historic, 110-year-old Marian Fell Library here. The new public library and resource center is to feature literacy programs, tutoring, youth services, a small-business incubator, a workforce-development and job-training area, broadband-enabled technology labs and human services and veteran-support offices.

The new full-service library will feature both physical and digital resources.

U.S. Rep. Mike Haridopolos, R-Indian Harbor Beach, announced the grant Aug. 13 at the Fell Library.

FELLSMERE — For years, community leaders in Fellsmere sought to create a one-stop shop that residents could use as a library as well as a community center for a wealth of resources. Now, U.S. Representative Mike Haridopolos (FL-08) is helping to launch that vision.

Haridopolos recently secured $2 million in federal funding to go toward constructing the long-awaited Fellsmere Public Library and Community Resource Center. The congressman said the new facility will be a game-changer for the small, rural town with a population of a little more than 5,000 people.
